AIDS RESOURCE CENTRE
The Aids Resource Centre is a Christian church-based Non Profit Organisation. We see what we do as a calling and not a job and our desire is to assist the most vulnerable in our communities – especially children affected by HIV.

South Africa is the world’s fastest growing drug market.  Billions are spent on illegal substances annually. Make no mistake, school children are a target market and are regularly exposed to drugs through dealers and peers. Not only this but children need to be informed on the dangers of alcohol abuse and learn to have a healthy understanding of alcohol usage. The Drug Education Agency (DEA) focuses on educating children and teenagers (as well as adults, parents and teachers) on the dangers of taking drugs and the abuse of alcohol. Over the last 8 years we have developed a Program called the BU Manual which runs in schools Parent 2 Parent Equipping (support groups) which run every second week at Atlantic Christian Assemblies.

Kibbutz El- Shammah is a multi-purpose community centre at the entrance to a low-income residential area on the Robertson Road in Worcester. It consists of a pre- school for 55 children, a seamstress-training centre and clothes shop, a small shop for Roodewal residents selling goods at near cost price, and a community hall. Kibbutz personnel are housed on the premises. The project provides a range of counselling and training programmes and has a performing arts programme as well. Gangsterism is prevalent in Roodewal, but Kibbutz helps to keep this problem at bay through their crime prevention programmes.
